In addition to co-founding SKAGIT OPERA and producing their concerts, Ron Wohl has produced many large and small community theatre projects, and has emceed benefits for arts, educational and service organizations in Skagit County. He is on the boards of directors of the Theater Arts Guild, the Lincoln Theatre Center Foundation, and the Skagit Performing Arts Council in Mount Vernon. He was the Skagit County Arts Volunteer of the Year for 2003. 

He resides locally with his wife and two daughters.

Ron Wohl, General Director
Erich Parce has been a frequent guest of opera companies throughout North America and Europe, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, San Diego Opera, Seattle Opera, Greater Miami Opera, L’Opera d’Nice, and L’Opera de Montreal. His roles include Figaro in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, the Count in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, Guglielmo in “Cosi fan Tutte”, Jonathan Wade in “The Passion of Jonathan Wade” by Carlisle Floyd, Zurga in “Les Pecheurs des Perles”, Valentin in “Faust”, and the Father in “Hansel and Gretel”. He has sung with Alfredo Kraus, Carol Vaness, and Placido Domingo among others, and worked with such conductors as Carlos Kleiber and Trevor Pinnock.

Mr. Parce maintains an active teaching studio when not performing and directing.

  Magic Flute Conductor Roupen Shakarian is known throughout the Northwest as a composer and conductor. He has been the Music Director of Philharmonia Northwest for many years, and has conducted the Northwest Mahler Festival, Seattle Symphony, and Pacific Northwest Ballet among others. Mr. Shakarian received his musical training at the University of Washington , receiving his Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Music degrees in Music Composition. Along with private composition lessons, he studied, piano, harpsichord, viola, voice, choral and orchestral conducting. He is also the new Interim Director of the Skagit Symphony.

Chorus Director Beth Kirchhoff, a native Kansan, has worked extensively in the Pacific Northwest as an opera coach, accompanist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She is the Chorusmaster for the Seattle Opera after serving as Assistant to George Fiore for several years. Beth has also worked for Opera Northwest, Pro Musica, Opera-by-the-Book, and was Asst. Music Director for Tacoma Opera. She is currently also Music Director for the opera program at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. Ms. Kirchhoff holds a degree in Piano Performance from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and a MM in choral conducting from Western Washington University. She shares her life with Loren Lukens, ceramic artist, and daughter Claire.
Beth Kirchhoff, Chorus Director
         
  Stuart Hunt has an Associate of Arts degree from Lower Columbia College , and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington , studying conducting under Prof. Rodney Eichenberger. He was Director of Choral activities in Quincy , Washington for eighteen years and was Choral Conductor at Marysville-Pilchuck   High School for 12 years. Mr. Hunt was the Associate Conductor of the Seattle Girl’s Choirs from 1990-2003. His choral compositions are published by Hinshaw Music. He is past president of the Sno-King music educators and served 5 years as Pacific Northwest Repertoire and Standards Men's Choir Chair for the American Choral Directors Association. Active as an adjudicator, lecturer, and clinician, Mr. Hunt has a lovely wife, 2 daughters and is the founder of the Northern Sound Children’s Choirs.
