Alexandra Picard was born in New York City, graduated from Harvard University and received her Masters in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory. Alexandra sings regularly with the Seattle Opera and has performed with the New Opera Festival of Rome, the Russian Center Opera, the Seattle Opera Guild, NOISE, and Golden West Opera. The Seattle Times recently noted of her performance in The Magic Flute, “Alexandra Picard sang her role with bell-like clarity.” Alexandra also originated the role of the Ghost of Butterfly in the jazz opera Welcome to the Voice by Steve Nieve and Elvis Costello on Broadway as part of the NY Jazz Festival, of which Rolling Stone affirmed, “(she was) perfectly at home in the format.”

Favorite roles include Queen of the Night, Musetta, Konstanze, Violetta, Gilda, and Baby Doe. Most recently, Alexandra performed Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte with Rogue Opera and Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann with Bellevue Opera. She also spent the summer in Graz, Austria, singing Queen of the Night excerpts with full orchestra under the baton of Maestro Eduardo Müller. Alexandra will next perform in Washington as Musetta in La Bohème with Skagit Opera. Alexandra currently lives between Vienna and Seattle.
