Baritone Daniel Oakden appeared as Sharpless in Lyric Opera Northwest's 2006 production of Madame Butterfly. Recent roles include Morales with Lyric Opera Northwest, and Angelotti in Tacoma Opera’s production of Puccini’s Tosca. He was also featured in Tacoma Opera’s production of Donizetti’s comic opera “Viva La Mama”. For the Seattle Symphony Daniel sang a series of concerts as Escamillo in Bizet’s “Carmen”. Daniel has traveled throughout Western Washington as an opera soloist. He portrayed the title role in Skagit Opera’s staging of Thomas Pasetieri’s “Signor Deluso”. His Mozart roles include Papageno in “The Magic Flute” and Figaro in “The Marriage Of Figaro.” In 2005 Daniel Oakden was the first prize winner of the Pacific Arts Festival Eastside vocal competition. He received the Michael Mitchell memorial scholarship.
